The class is for those who have a some basic French – for example a basic knowledge of greetings, numbers, colours and some vocabulary for daily use – but who have limited grammar and, as yet, little speaking or conversation skills. This class will help those who want to get to grips with the basics and gain confidence in their day-to-day communication.

Who will benefit from this class?

This class is for you if you have taken ACIP’s ‘Absolute Beginner’s French’ course, if you have studied some French before, perhaps at school or you have picked some up from your day to day life in France. You would now like to get to grips with, or revisit, the basics to build your skills and confidence.

What will you learn in this class?

 Build vocabulary and phrases for use in daily conversations and typical situations
 Improve your grammar and pronunciation skills
 Improve your listening skills and understanding and be better understood
 Build your confidence to speak French
 Prepare to progress on to a new level in French communication

To ensure maximum learning and individual attention, the class size will be limited to 15 members and will run from September through to the following December.

While we are not a Language School, ACIP French tutors work together to make the most of helping you to develop and progress in French.

Who leads this class?

Edith Bourel is a native French speaker and former French and English teacher who has recently relocated to the Dordogne. Before settling here she worked with the charity, Restos du Coeur, at Berk sur Mer for two years giving weekly French lessons to Sudanese, Eritrean and Afghan refugees who had been on their way to Calais but had decided and hoped to be allowed to stay in France. Edith has a particular sensitivity for language learning and is keen to design the class around the needs of those who sign up.

When is this class?

Fortnightly on Fridays from 15.30 – 17.00 at Le Bastion. In view of the huge demand for this course, Edith will lead 2 groups of 15 on alternate weeks.
